Day Four
Thinking About My Purpose
Point to Ponder: There is more to life than just here and now.
Verse to Remember: “This world is fading away, along with everything it craves. But if you do the will of God, you will live forever.” 1 John 2:17
Question to Consider: Since I was made to last forever, what is the one thing I should stop doing and the one thing I should start doing today?
Answer: There are a number of things I should stop doing, so to keep it short I will sum them up in a few words, STOP LIVING FOR MYSELF. All of my life I have lived to please me. My loved ones, friends, family, teammates, and peers came in a distant second. This selfish living lead me down a path of immorality, heartache, and pain, not only for myself but for those I affected as well. Fortunately, thanks to Jesus and my new found relationship with God, it is not to late to make a change. Instead of living my life for my own personal pleasure I will seek to live my life to honor God and serve Him and those around me. I want to go from master to servant and give my life away for the sake of Christ Jesus. The Bible says, “Whoever tries to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will preserve it.” Luke 17:33. Knowing this makes it difficult to live any other way. Therefore, I AM SECOND.
