Thinking About My Purpose
Point to Ponder: God smiles when I trust Him.
Verse to Remember: “The Lord is pleased with those who worship him and trust his love.” Psalm 147:11
Question to Consider: Since God knows what is best, in what areas of my life do I need to trust Him most?
Answer: There are several areas of my life I need to turn over to God. I’d be kidding myself if I chose just one but for the purpose of time and space I will focus on the future. When I think about the future I can’t help but be anxious. With college coming to a close and my football career fading with it, the next chapter of my life looks very hazy. For as long as I can remember my days have consisted of working out, taking classes and going to practice. As a 22-year old who has never had any experience in the real world, the thought of any sort of change is scary. It is human nature to fear the unknown. We are all creatures of habit and changing anything about our schedule can throw us in a loop. However, knowing that God has my best interest at heart and knowing that His ways are greater than my ways brings me tremendous peace. I don’t know what my future holds but I know who holds my future. As long as God is in control of my life and I willingly surrender the reigns, I have no doubt that all things will go according to his plan. So for the time being I will sit back, relax and enjoy the ride. I cant wait to see what he has in store.
