Thinking About My Purpose

Point to Ponder: The heart of worship is surrender.

Verse to Remember: “Surrender your whole being to him to be used for righteous purposes.” Romans 6:13

Question to Consider: What area of my life am I holding back from God?

Answer: I struggle with giving God full control of my relationships with others. There are several people in my life that I’m holding on to when God might be telling me to let go. These are people that I refuse to give up on because I feel like I can be a positive influence in their life and I’m constantly filled with hope that their hearts will change. While I don’t plan on ever turning my back on them, God might be warning me of future hardships. There might be a day in the future where I’m dragged down by their negative influence. I am no where near perfect and have struggled with many of the same demons that these people struggle with. Because of my past, there are times when I am walking a fine line that can easily be crossed. So the time is now for me to hand these relationships over to God and if it is His desire to end them then I have faith that it is for the best. If not, I know that he will protect me from myself and my own sinful nature.
