Carpe Diem.
Seize the day.
What does it really mean?
Does it mean do your homework? Go to work? Or volunteer?
No seizing the day is far simpler than that. To seize the day is to do everything to the best of your abilities. Be the best dish washer you can be. Be the best best bed maker you can be. Be the best lawn mower you can be. You see, it isn’t what your doing that is so important. It’s who your doing it for.
Jesus!
Everything you do is for His glory.
Knowing this gives life purpose. Days when you wake up feeling a little unmotivated (or a lot), days when you’re feeling sorry for yourself and find yourself starting not to care, remember this. Remember it’s not abut you! It’s so much bigger than that. Look not in the mirror at yourself, look above. Take advantage of the day He has given you and be grateful. A great way to show this is giving it back to Him.
By the way I am horrible at this. I guess it’s not always easy to practice what you preach.
Am I a hypocrite?
Yes.
Am I a failure?
Yes.
Am I a sinner?
Yes.
Am I forgiven?
Yes!
Nobody is perfect. We have all sinned and fallen short. The key is waking up every morning and deciding that Jesus is enough. Waking up and realizing your sins are forgiven and you have new life. If this is true why wouldn’t you want to repay Him? Do it by seizing the day and giving it all back to the One who gave it.
Carpe Diem.
