On The Run

Running fast,
Running hard.
Could run forever,
But wouldn’t get far.

Away from my problems,
Away from the past.
Life is a marathon,
And I’m already gassed.

My tank is on empty,
The fuel lights on.
My legs start to wobble.
I can’t carry on.

Somebody save me!
My future looks grim.
The reaper is knocking,
And  the  lights start to dim.

As darkness surrounds me.
A light squeezes through.
And peace overwhelms me.
Because I know that it’s You.
