Day Five
Thinking About My Purpose
Point to Ponder: Life is a test and a trust.
Verse to Remember: “Unless you are faithful in small matters, you won’t be faithful in large ones.” Luke 16:10
Question to Consider: What has happened to me recently that I now realize was a test from God? What are the greatest matters God has entrusted to me?
Answer: One way that God has really tested me recently is through injury. Last spring I tore my ACL for the third time. At first I was filled with anger towards God and resentment towards His plans for me. I questioned why He would put me through this for a third time and wondered what purpose it served. After spending a few days of sulking and feeling sorry for myself, I tried to force myself to trust what He had in store for me. Although I still don’t understand what my destiny is, I do understand that there is more to life than football and find comfort in knowing that I am now a more rounded person thanks to my misfortunes.
In my short time here on earth God has entrusted me with decent writing ability. Ironically, the only reason I found out about my writing skills was due to heavy soul-searching after my injuries. Now that I am aware of my blessing it is my duty to use my writing to glorify God.
