Picking up the jagged pieces,

of a heart shattered on the floor.

Trying to mend it back together,

so it will beat again once more.

What do you do when someone  special,

just gives up and walks away?

When the one you dream of day and night,

says she no longer plans to stay?

Where do you go when you hit rock bottom?

How do you stand up again?

How do you start a new beginning?

after such a heartbreaking end?

You don’t.
