Thinking About My Purpose

Point to Ponder: I need others in my life.

Verse to Remember: “Share each other’s troubles and problems, and in this way obey the law of Christ.” Galatians 6:2

Question to Consider: What one step can I take today to connect with another believer at a more genuine, heart-to-heart level?

Answer: I can take a huge step towards achieving heart-to-heart connections by becoming a better listener. Listening is a key element of good conversation but has unfortunately become a lost art. Far too often we are in such a hurry to get through a conversation that the quality of the conversation suffers, resulting in shallow encounters where the surface of how we feel is barely scratched. This lack of real fellowship results in a countless number of believers hiding their true feelings. With their true emotions cooped up inside, they suffer in silence with no outlet for their pain. So next time someone wants to talk I’ll be all ears and give them my undivided attention. I have two ears and one mouth for a reason and the quicker I realize that, the better relationships I’ll have.
