Thinking About My Purpose

Point to Ponder: I am called to belong, not just believe.

Verse to Remember: “In Christ we who are many form one body ,and each member belongs to all the others.” Romans 12:5

Question to Consider: Does my level of involvement in my local church demonstrate that I love and am committed to God’s family?

Answer: No. If one were to look at my life right now they would see a church member who is a consumer rather than a contributor. As one who consumes, I feed off of the work of others and accept their teachings but cease to have any responsibility in the church family. I’ve always made excuses and told myself things like, “after college I’ll get plugged in” or ” I have the rest of my life to contribute to a church”. Sadly these excuses are nothing more than a feeble attempt to soothe a conscience that knows it should do more. But those days are now over and it’s time to grow up, and more importantly man up. So my goal for 2014 is to stop solely attending my local church and get involved by the end of the semester. 2014 is the year I go from consumer to CONTRIBUTOR.
