Trust take just seconds to lose,

a lifetime to gain until one day they prove.

That the trust that you gave was a fatal mistake,

when they threw out the hook and you went for the bait.

You opened yourself up for reasons unknown,

leaving yourself helpless and all on your own.

The wound left behind will now leave its mark,

a scar that’s forever, leaving proof of the dark.

The blackness is haunting, you can’t get away,

As you search for the trust that you too freely gave.
