I am nothing more than a hypocrite
who cannot take his own advice.
Quick to correct a stranger’s wrong
but quick to excuse when mine.
It does not matter what mistake I’ve made,
whether it be big or small.
I will surely find a valid excuse
to justify them each and all.
“It’s not my fault!” I always plea,
before pointing out reasons why.
Dispersing the blame on those around me,
in a desperate attempt to survive.
But as soon as another stumbles and falls,
I’m always first on the scene.
Showing them right where they went wrong,
“I’d never make that mistake!” I scream!

I wrote this one a while back but it’s very relevant to some recent events. Just a reminder to pull the plank out of your own eye before you point out the spec in another’s.
