Day Twenty-Eight
Thinking About My Purpose
Point to Ponder: There are no shortcuts to maturity.
Verse to Remember: “God began doing a good work in you, and I am sure he will continue it until it is finished when Jesus Christ comes again.”
Question to Consider: In what area of my spiritual growth do I need to be more patient and persistent?
Answer: This might be the easiest question this book has asked me thus far. As of right now I’m in between jobs and struggling to understand what my future entails. I have a good idea of what I want to pursue in the long term, but so far things haven’t fallen into place. As a result, I have suffered many sleepless nights and moments of extreme anxiety. Instead of trusting God and waiting patiently for him to reveal his plan, I have tortured myself trying to figure things out on my own. It’s clear to me that I need to stop trying and start praying. Tim Tebow said it best, “I don’t know what my future holds, but I know who holds my future.”
