LIFE LESSONS
Broken dreams litter the path
to the man that I’ve become.
Dying beside them are youthful passions
I once knew when I was young.
The road that once owned so much hope
is now covered with trash and pain.
Instead of a life full of laughter and love
it’s now full of regret, guilt and shame.
How can I uncover the dreams of the past?
How do I clear off the road?
The answer is don’t get rid of the trash
and choose to learn from the mistakes of old.
Use them to create a brand new path
one that’s even better than before.
Because if you choose to learn from the past
there’s a brighter future in store.
